12.5 years ago I put this script together to throw weather displays into my X windows desktop background. Today it still runs however it now runs as a kiosk display only above my desk. Pic here. Amazing how something so simple just continues to keep running without much modification. Occasionally I change or add a URL but for the most part it requires little maintenance.
Welcome to Florida, this is geek country. We take our Christmas displays seriously. Tony Hansen of Techni-Lux, Ron Lister (christmaswonders.com) and Rush Frisby (rushlights.com) were both featured in a Christmas Eve article in the Orlando Sentinel.
Happy fun network talk.
Well Orlando is finally going to get a podcamp. I have heard about these gatherings from other podcasters in far away lands. So shrug I will likely go and see what it’s all about. Kudos to Ryan Price for getting it going. If you are on Facebook might want to join the Podcamp Orlando group.
*** update: Friday 12/21/2007 Forgot the official link for Podcamp Orlando: http://orlandopodcasters.com/
Oh also I found a link to the Podcamp orginization itself: podcamp.org.
